Vince Schauf - Intro

| Hi fellow Alumni! If you don't know me, I'm Vince, I graduated in the class of 1981.My father (Michael Schauf) lived in Ithaca all his life and graduated in the class of 1943.His father (Hubert Schauf(1885-1949)) also lived in Ithaca all his life but didn't go to IHS because I don't believe they had a high school at the turn of the century yet. My 4 other brothers and 2 sisters also graduated from IHS (Michaeleen in 1967, Bob - 1969, Bill - '71, Jerome '72, Kathi '75, Kelly -86). Currently, I work as a paralegal at a Personal Injury law firm in downtown Chicago. We handle lots of car accident cases that unfortunately occur in the Chicagoland area and try to help those who are hurt physically and financially as a result of those accidents. I am not only a paralegal but help train law clerks who come from law school and show them the best way to help attorneys at our firm. I live in the SW Chicago suburb of Oak Forest. I live in a large condo complex (28 buildings each with 6 condo units) where I am the president of the association.I am the father of 3 kids, Andy (11), Ted (9), and Brian (6). I was married to Maribeth DeMars in 1993; unfortunately, we divorced in 2004.Happily enough, we have patched things up and have lived together again since Nov., 2006. We are not remarried, but we are back together again and it has been a blessing to both of us and our kids. I really enjoyed coming to the Ithaca Fair Sept. 15, and watching the mighty Bulldogs whip the Predators 49-6. I also want to say even though I live near a very big city (& enjoy that also!) I am always proud that I came from Ithaca, happy of the many memories I made in high school, fond of recalling them, and truly believe that Ithaca is an awesome place to get an excellent secondary education and gives you a good basis for starting your life and leading it whereever you go. I hope to hear from the rest of you. Let's make this website a success!! |

| Hi All, Homecoming at ithaca brings back such awesome memories. The great time we had with friends and the fun and craziness of our youth. I know many of us would push rewind in a heartbeat and enjoy all those times again. I hope this site lets you take a moment and reflect on those days here and there along the way. Connect with old friends and get to know some other folks that your travels at ithaca may not have crossed. I think I am not alone in thanking everyone who makes this community a great place to live and raise our families! |
